Ensure the mower is on a flat surface. Check the oil and fuel levels. Press the primer button three times, hold the handlebar lever to the handle, and pull the starter rope.
Check the fuel tank to ensure it has fresh gasoline. Inspect the spark plug for damage or wear and replace if necessary. Also, ensure the air filter is clean and not clogged.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, then every 25 hours of operation or at least once a mowing season.
After each use, disconnect the spark plug wire and use a hose to wash off grass clippings and debris. Avoid using a pressure washer, as it can damage components.
The recommended mowing height is between 2 and 3.5 inches, depending on the grass type and season. Adjust the height using the lever on each wheel.
Regularly sharpen the blade and keep the underside of the deck clean. Also, mow when the grass is dry and at the correct height settings.
Inspect the blade for damage or imbalance. Tighten any loose bolts on the engine and handle. Replace the blade if it is bent or damaged.
Drain the fuel or add a fuel stabilizer. Clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, and remove the spark plug. Store in a dry, cool place.
Use SAE 30 oil above 32°F (0°C) and SAE 10W-30 oil below 32°F (0°C). Always refer to the user manual for your specific climate recommendations.
Remove the air filter cover, take out the old filter, and replace it with a new one. Ensure the new filter is seated properly before replacing the cover.
