To start the Toro Recycler 55-cm 20964 Mower, ensure it's on a level surface. Press the primer bulb three times if the engine is cold. Pull the blade control bar to the handle and hold it while pulling the starter rope.
Use SAE 30 motor oil for the Toro Recycler 55-cm 20964 Mower in temperatures above 40°F (4°C). For temperatures below, use SAE 10W-30.
Check the fuel level and ensure the fuel is fresh. Examine the spark plug for damage or wear, and clean or replace it if necessary. Also, check the air filter and clean or replace it if it's dirty.
To clean the underside of the mower, ensure the engine is off and the spark plug wire is disconnected. Tilt the mower on its side and use a hose to rinse away grass clippings. Avoid spraying the engine directly.
Sharpen the mower blade at least once a mowing season or after every 25 hours of use. Check for nicks or dullness more frequently if cutting over rocky or hard terrain.
Ensure the blade is sharpened regularly and the underside is clean. Adjust the cutting height to suit your lawn conditions and mow when the grass is dry.
Perform regular maintenance including oil changes every 25 hours of use, air filter inspection every 25 hours, and spark plug replacement annually. Clean the mower deck after each use.
To replace the air filter, remove the cover by unscrewing the fasteners. Take out the old filter and insert a new one, ensuring it fits securely. Reattach the cover and fasten it securely.
Excessive vibration may indicate a damaged blade or loose engine bolts. Check the blade for damage and ensure all bolts are tightened. Replace the blade if necessary.
Before storing for winter, run the engine dry to remove fuel, change the oil, clean the deck, and remove the spark plug to add a few drops of oil into the cylinder. Store in a dry place.
