To start the mower, ensure the fuel valve is open, the throttle is set to 'Choke', and the blade control is engaged. Pull the starter handle smoothly.
Check if there's enough fuel and the spark plug is clean. Ensure the air filter isn't clogged and the fuel valve is open. Examine the ignition system for issues.
It's recommended to sharpen the blades after every 20-25 hours of use or at the beginning of each mowing season.
Use the height adjustment levers located near each wheel to set the desired cutting height. Ensure all wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the oil, air filter, and spark plug. Also, inspect the blades and clean the mower deck regularly.
After each use, use a garden hose to spray the underside of the deck, removing grass clippings and debris. Ensure the mower is turned off and cool before cleaning.
Use SAE 30 motor oil for temperatures above 32°F and SAE 10W-30 for varying temperature ranges. Always check the owner's manual for specific recommendations.
Drain the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer, change the oil, clean the mower, and store it in a dry place. Disconnect the spark plug to prevent accidental starts.
Check for debris lodged in the blade area. Inspect the blade for damage or imbalance and tighten any loose parts. If necessary, consult a professional for repairs.
Ensure the blade is sharp, the deck is clean, and mow at a higher setting to avoid clumping. Mow when the grass is dry for better mulching results.
