To start the Toro Recycler 53-cm 22291 mower, ensure the fuel valve is open, the choke is engaged if the engine is cold, and the handle is held down to the handlebar. Then, pull the starter rope briskly.
If the mower does not start, check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected, verify that the air filter is clean, and make sure the safety handle is properly engaged.
The oil in the Toro Recycler 53-cm 22291 mower should be changed after the first 5 hours of use, then after every 25 hours of use, or at least once per mowing season.
Toro recommends using SAE 30 or SAE 10W-30 oil for the Recycler 53-cm 22291 mower in temperatures above 0°C (32°F).
To adjust the cutting height, move the height adjustment lever located on each wheel to the desired position. Ensure all four wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
If the mower is not cutting evenly, check that all wheels are set to the same height, the blade is sharp, and there is no debris obstructing the blade.
To sharpen the mower blade, disconnect the spark plug, remove the blade, and use a file or bench grinder to sharpen it evenly on both sides. Reinstall the blade securely.
To clean the undercarriage, ensure the mower is off and cool. Tip the mower onto its side with the air filter and carburetor facing up. Use a brush or hose to remove grass clippings and debris.
Regular maintenance includes checking the oil level, cleaning the air filter, inspecting and tightening bolts, sharpening the blade, and cleaning the undercarriage.
To store the mower for the winter, drain the fuel, clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, remove the spark plug, and store it in a dry, sheltered area.
