To start the mower, ensure the fuel valve is open, the throttle is set to 'choke' for a cold start, and the ignition switch is in the 'on' position. Pull the starter rope firmly until the engine starts.
Check for sufficient fuel, inspect the spark plug for damage, ensure the air filter is clean, and verify all safety features are engaged. If issues persist, consult a professional technician.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, then every 25 hours of operation or at the beginning of each mowing season. Use SAE 30 or SAE 10W-30 oil for best performance.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment levers on each wheel and move them to the desired position. Ensure all wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
Check for clogged air filters, dirty spark plugs, or stale fuel. Clean or replace parts as necessary. Ensure the fuel mixture is appropriate and the carburetor is properly tuned.
After each use, disconnect the spark plug wire, then use a garden hose to clean the underside of the mower deck. Scrape off any remaining debris with a plastic scraper.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the oil, cleaning or replacing the air filter, sharpening the blades, inspecting the spark plug, and cleaning the mower deck.
Remove the spark plug wire, tip the mower onto its side, and remove the blade. Secure the blade and sharpen using a file or bench grinder, maintaining the original angle of the blade edge. Reinstall and tighten securely.
Drain the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer, remove and clean the spark plug, change the oil, clean the mower thoroughly, and store it in a dry, sheltered area. Cover the mower to protect it from dust and debris.
Check the drive belt for wear or damage, ensure the drive cable is properly adjusted, and inspect the transmission for any issues. Replace or repair parts as necessary.
