To start the Toro Recycler 53-cm 20793 mower, ensure the fuel valve is open, the ignition key is in the "On" position, and the blade control bar is held against the handle. Pull the starter rope briskly to start the engine.
Check the fuel level and ensure fresh fuel is used. Verify the spark plug connection, clean or replace the air filter, and inspect the carburetor for any blockages. If the issue persists, consult the user manual or contact Toro support.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, then every 25 hours of operation or at least once per mowing season for optimal performance.
Toro recommends using SAE 30 motor oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) and 10W-30 for temperatures below 32°F (0°C). Always check the user manual for specific oil recommendations.
Disconnect the spark plug wire for safety, turn the mower on its side, and remove the blade bolt. Sharpen the blade using a grinder or file, ensuring to maintain the original angle. Balance the blade before reinstalling.
Regularly sharpen the blades, clean the underside of the deck to prevent grass buildup, and ensure the mower is operating at the recommended speed. Properly adjust the cutting height for the grass type and condition.
Clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, empty the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer, and remove the battery if applicable. Store the mower in a dry, protected area.
Check the tire pressure to ensure it is even, inspect the blade for sharpness and balance, and adjust the cutting height. Make sure the deck is level and clear of debris.
With the engine off and the spark plug wire disconnected, use a garden hose to rinse the underside of the deck. Scrape off any stubborn grass clippings with a plastic scraper. Ensure the deck is dry before storing.
To adjust the self-propel drive, locate the cable adjustment on the handle. Turn the adjustment knob clockwise to increase the drive speed and counterclockwise to decrease it. Test the mower to ensure the desired speed is achieved.
