To start the Toro Recycler 53-cm 20781 Mower, ensure that the fuel tank is filled, the oil level is adequate, and the spark plug is connected. Then, press the primer bulb three times, pull the starter handle slowly until you feel resistance, and then pull it sharply to start the engine.
If your mower won't start, check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected and clean, and verify that the air filter is not clogged. Additionally, make sure that the safety handle is fully engaged while starting.
It is recommended to change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, then at least once every season or after 25 hours of operation, whichever comes first.
To clean the mower deck, ensure the engine is off and disconnect the spark plug. Tilt the mower on its side with the air filter up, then use a hose to remove grass clippings and debris. Avoid using high pressure to prevent damage.
First, disconnect the spark plug and remove the blade by loosening the blade bolt. Secure the blade in a vice and sharpen it using a file or grinder, following the original angle. Balance the blade before reinstalling it.
Excessive vibration may indicate an unbalanced blade or debris caught in the blade area. Check and clean the blade and deck, and ensure the blade is correctly balanced and securely fastened.
To adjust the cutting height, move the height adjustment lever located on each wheel. Raise or lower the lever to the desired cutting height position. Ensure all wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
At the end of the mowing season, perform an oil change, clean or replace the air filter, inspect and clean the spark plug, and drain the fuel or add a fuel stabilizer. Store the mower in a dry, sheltered area.
To replace the air filter, first disconnect the spark plug wire. Open the air filter cover, remove the old filter, and insert a new one that matches the model specifications. Secure the cover back in place.
Uncut grass may be the result of a dull blade, incorrect cutting height, or mowing too quickly. Sharpen the blade, adjust the cutting height, and mow at a slower pace for better results.
