Ensure the fuel tank is filled and the oil level is adequate. Prime the engine by pressing the primer bulb three times. Pull the starter handle firmly until the engine starts.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected, and verify that the air filter is clean. If the problem persists, consult the user manual for troubleshooting tips or contact a service center.
It is recommended to change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, and then every 25 hours of operation or at least once each mowing season.
Use SAE 30 oil for general mowing conditions. In colder temperatures, SAE 10W-30 can be used to improve starting.
Locate the height adjustment levers on each wheel and move them to the desired position to set the cutting height uniformly across the mower.
At season's end, clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, inspect and replace the spark plug if necessary, and store the mower in a dry, sheltered location.
Ensure the blade is sharp and the underside of the deck is clean. Mow at a slower pace in thicker grass and avoid mowing wet grass for optimal mulching.
Check for debris caught in the blade or under the mower deck. Inspect the blade for damage and balance, replacing if necessary. Tighten any loose components.
Collect the used oil in a suitable container and take it to a local recycling center or automotive store that accepts oil for recycling. Do not dispose of oil in drains or trash.
After each use, disconnect the spark plug and use a garden hose to remove grass clippings and debris. For thorough cleaning, use a scraper or brush to remove stuck-on debris.
