To start the Toro Recycler 48-cm 20926B Mower, ensure that the mower is on a flat surface, the fuel valve is open, and the spark plug is connected. Pull the starter rope gently until you feel resistance, then pull briskly to start the engine.
It is recommended to use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 4°C (40°F) and SAE 5W-30 for temperatures below 4°C (40°F). Always check the manual for the most accurate information.
The oil should be changed after the first 5 hours of use, and then every 50 hours of operation or at least once per mowing season.
Regular maintenance includes checking the oil level before each use, cleaning the air filter every 25 hours, sharpening or replacing the blade annually, and inspecting the spark plug every 100 hours.
If the mower does not start, check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected, and verify the air filter is clean. Also, make sure the fuel valve is open and the battery is charged if applicable.
Ensure the blade is sharp and balanced. Check for any obstructions or debris under the deck. Adjust the mower's height settings and verify that the wheels are at the same height.
After each mowing session, turn off the engine and disconnect the spark plug. Use a hose to rinse off grass clippings and debris from the deck, ensuring no water enters the engine or air filter.
Excessive vibration can be due to an unbalanced blade or loose parts. Check and tighten all bolts and screws. If the blade is damaged or unbalanced, it should be replaced or sharpened and balanced.
To adjust the cutting height, use the height adjustment levers located on each wheel. Move the levers to the desired height setting, ensuring all wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
Always wear protective gear such as gloves and sturdy shoes. Clear the mowing area of debris and ensure bystanders and pets are at a safe distance. Never operate the mower in wet conditions or while barefoot.
