To start the mower, ensure the fuel valve is open, the choke is engaged (if starting cold), and the throttle is in the correct position. Then, pull the starter handle firmly until the engine starts.
Check if there is enough fuel, the spark plug is connected properly, and the air filter is clean. Also, ensure the safety lever is engaged while starting.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, and then every 25 hours of operation or at least once per mowing season.
Use SAE 30 or 10W-30 oil for optimal performance in warmer temperatures. For colder climates, refer to the manual for specific recommendations.
After each use, ensure the engine is off and cool. Tilt the mower and use a hose to spray off grass clippings and debris. Avoid using high-pressure water to prevent damage.
Check for dull blades and sharpen or replace them as needed. Also, ensure the deck is clean and the grass bag is not clogged.
To adjust the cutting height, use the height adjustment levers located on each wheel. Set all wheels to the same height for an even cut.
Keep the mower well-maintained by regularly changing the oil, cleaning the air filter, and sharpening the blades. Also, operate at the recommended engine speed.
Excessive vibration may be caused by an unbalanced blade. Check if the blade is damaged or improperly installed and correct as necessary.
Before storing, clean the mower thoroughly, drain the fuel system, and change the oil. Store it in a dry place and cover it to protect from dust and moisture.
