To start the Toro Recycler 48-cm 20826 Mower, ensure the fuel valve is open, the throttle is set to 'choke' if the engine is cold, and the blade control lever is held down. Pull the starter handle gently until you feel resistance, then pull it sharply.
If the mower does not start, check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected, and verify that the air filter is clean. Also, confirm the blade control lever is engaged. If it still doesn't start, consult the user manual or a qualified technician.
It is recommended to change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, and then every 25 hours of operation or at least once a mowing season thereafter.
Use SAE 30 or SAE 10W-30 oil for warmer temperatures, and 5W-30 for colder temperatures to ensure optimal performance.
Disconnect the spark plug before cleaning. Use a brush or cloth to remove grass clippings and debris. For a thorough cleaning, use a hose to wash the underside of the deck, ensuring water does not contact the engine or air filter.
Check for a dull or damaged blade and sharpen or replace it if necessary. Ensure the deck is clean and the grass bag is not clogged. Adjust the cutting height as needed for optimal performance.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment levers on each wheel. Move the levers to the desired position, ensuring all four wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
Perform regular maintenance including checking the oil level before each use, cleaning the deck after each use, and inspecting the blade and air filter monthly. Change the oil and spark plug annually.
Check that all wheels are set to the same height. Inspect the blade for damage or wear and replace or sharpen if necessary. Ensure the mower is moving at a consistent speed over the lawn.
It is not recommended to mow wet grass as it can lead to uneven cutting, clogging of the mower deck, and potential damage to the lawn. Wait until the grass is dry for best results.
