Toro Recycler 48-cm 20823 Operator's Manual

To start the Toro Recycler 48-cm 20823 Mower, make sure the mower is on a level surface. Check that the fuel tank is full and that the oil level is adequate. Engage the safety lever on the handle, then pull the starter rope briskly to start the engine.
For optimal performance, use SAE 30 or SAE 10W-30 oil. Ensure that the oil meets the API service classification SJ or higher. Regularly check and change the oil as specified in the user manual.
It is recommended to sharpen the mower blade after every 25 hours of use, or at least twice a mowing season, to ensure a clean and effective cut.
If the mower won't start, check the fuel level and ensure the fuel is fresh. Inspect the spark plug for damage or wear and replace if necessary. Additionally, ensure the air filter is clean and not blocked.
To clean the underside of the mower deck, ensure the engine is off and disconnect the spark plug wire. Tilt the mower onto its side with the air filter facing up. Use a brush or hose to remove grass clippings and debris.
For off-season storage, clean the mower thoroughly and ensure it is dry. Drain the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer. Store the mower in a dry, cool place, and cover it to protect it from dust and moisture.
To improve cutting performance, regularly sharpen the blade and keep the underside of the deck clean. Ensure the mower is set to the correct cutting height and that the grass is dry when mowing.
Excessive vibration could be due to a damaged or unbalanced blade. Check the blade for bends or damage and replace it if necessary. Ensure the blade is securely fastened to the drive shaft.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment levers on each wheel. Move the levers to the desired height position, ensuring all four wheels are set at the same level.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the oil, cleaning or replacing the air filter, inspecting and replacing the spark plug, sharpening the blade, and cleaning the mower deck after each use.
