It is recommended to change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, and then after every 25 hours of operation or at least once a season.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of at least 87 and no more than 10% ethanol content.
To sharpen the blade, remove it from the mower, secure it in a vice, and use a file or grinder to sharpen the cutting edge evenly. Be sure to balance the blade before reinstalling.
First, check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected and clean, and verify the air filter is not clogged. Also, make sure the safety key is inserted properly.
To improve cut quality, ensure the blade is sharp, the deck is clean, and the mower is set to the proper cutting height for your grass type.
At the end of the season, clean the mower deck, change the oil, replace the air filter, add fuel stabilizer to the tank, and sharpen the blade. Store the mower in a dry place.
Adjust the cutting height by moving the height adjustment levers located on each wheel. Ensure all four wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
Excessive vibration can be caused by an unbalanced or damaged blade. Stop the mower, inspect the blade for damage, and ensure it is balanced and securely fastened.
After each use, use a garden hose to remove grass clippings from the deck. For thorough cleaning, tilt the mower and use a brush to remove debris. Ensure the mower is off and cool before cleaning.
Check the drive belt for wear or damage, ensure the drive cable is properly adjusted, and verify that the wheels are clean and not obstructed.
