To start the Toro Recycler 43-cm 21012 Mower, ensure the fuel valve is open, and the handle is in the correct position. Pull the starter rope firmly while holding the safety bar against the handle.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using ethanol blends with more than 10% ethanol.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use and then every 50 hours of operation or at the beginning of each mowing season.
Check the fuel level and ensure the spark plug is connected. Inspect the air filter for clogs, and verify that the safety bar is engaged.
To adjust the cutting height, use the lever located near each wheel. Move the lever to the desired height setting, ensuring all wheels are set to the same level.
To clean the undercarriage, disconnect the spark plug wire for safety, tilt the mower on its side, and use a hose to remove grass clippings and debris. Avoid using a pressure washer to prevent damage.
For winterizing, run the mower until it is out of fuel or add a fuel stabilizer. Change the oil, clean the mower, and store it in a dry place. Disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent accidental starting.
Uneven cutting can be due to dull blades, incorrect deck leveling, or tire pressure issues. Sharpen the blades, check the deck alignment, and ensure all tires are equally inflated.
To replace the blade, disconnect the spark plug wire, tilt the mower, and use a wrench to remove the blade bolt. Install the new blade and tighten the bolt securely.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the oil, cleaning the air filter, inspecting the spark plug, and sharpening or replacing the blade as needed.
