To start the Toro Recycler 22-inch 20380 Mower, ensure the mower is on a flat surface. Pull the handlebar to the operating position, engage the blade control bar, and then pull the starter rope firmly.
Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) and SAE 5W-30 or 10W-30 for temperatures below 32°F (0°C). Always check the oil level before use.
To adjust the cutting height, move the height adjustment lever located on each wheel to the desired position. Ensure all wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
Check if there's fuel in the tank and ensure the spark plug is connected. Also, inspect the air filter for clogs and ensure the blade control bar is fully engaged.
Sharpen the mower blade after every 20-25 hours of use or at least once per mowing season to ensure a clean cut and healthy lawn.
After use, allow the engine to cool, then use a garden hose to rinse the underside of the deck. Avoid spraying directly on the engine or electrical components.
Conduct regular maintenance such as checking the oil level before each use, cleaning the underside of the deck after use, and replacing the air filter and spark plug annually.
To change the oil, run the engine for a few minutes, then turn it off and disconnect the spark plug. Tilt the mower on its side and allow the oil to drain from the oil fill tube into a container. Refill with fresh oil.
Uneven cutting may be due to a dull blade, incorrect cutting height, or a clogged deck. Ensure the blade is sharp, the height is adjusted properly, and the deck is clean.
To winterize the mower, drain the fuel system, change the oil, clean the mower thoroughly, and store it in a dry, sheltered area. Disconnect the spark plug to prevent accidental starts.
