Ensure the mower is on a flat surface. Check that the fuel tank is filled, and the oil level is appropriate. Pull the starter handle slowly until you feel resistance, then pull quickly to start the engine.
Check if there's fresh fuel in the tank and the spark plug is in good condition. Ensure the air filter is clean and the engine oil level is correct. If the problem persists, consult the manual or contact a professional.
Sharpen the blade after every 20-25 hours of use or at least once per mowing season to ensure clean cuts and maintain lawn health.
After each use, remove grass clippings from the undercarriage using a brush or hose. Ensure the mower is turned off and cooled down before cleaning.
Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F and SAE 5W-30 for temperatures below 32°F. Always check the manual for specific recommendations.
To adjust the cutting height, use the height adjustment lever located near each wheel. Move the lever to the desired setting for all four wheels to ensure an even cut.
Check if the blade is dull or damaged. Ensure the wheels are set to the same height and the deck is clean from debris. Uneven patches may also result from mowing too quickly.
To replace the spark plug, first disconnect the spark plug wire. Use a spark plug wrench to remove the old plug. Insert the new plug, tighten securely, and reattach the spark plug wire.
Clean the mower thoroughly, remove any fuel, and change the oil. Store it in a dry place, and cover it to protect against dust and moisture. Remove the battery if applicable.
Check for a damaged or unbalanced blade. Ensure the blade is securely attached. Inspect for debris lodged in the cutting deck that could cause imbalance.
