To start the Toro Recycler 22-inch 20090 Mower, ensure the fuel tank is filled, the oil level is adequate, and the spark plug is connected. Then, pull the starter handle firmly.
Check the fuel level, inspect the spark plug for damage or wear, ensure the air filter is clean, and verify that the safety handle is engaged while starting.
Regularly sharpen the mower blades, maintain the correct mowing height, and mow when the grass is dry to improve cutting performance.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, then every 25 hours of operation or at least once per mowing season.
Toro recommends using SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) and SAE 5W-30 for colder temperatures.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment levers on each wheel and move them to the desired position. Ensure all four wheels are set to the same height.
Before storing the mower, clean the deck, change the oil, empty the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer, and remove the battery if applicable.
To replace the spark plug, disconnect the spark plug wire, use a spark plug socket to remove the old plug, then install the new plug and reconnect the wire.
Excessive vibration can be caused by an unbalanced blade, loose parts, or debris caught in the blade area. Inspect and tighten components, and clean the deck as necessary.
Remove the air filter cover, take out the filter, and clean it with mild soap and water. Allow it to dry completely before reinstalling. Replace the filter if it's damaged or heavily soiled.
