To start the Toro Recycler 22-inch 20071 mower, ensure the fuel tank is filled and the oil level is correct. Pull the starter handle firmly while holding the safety bar against the handle.
Use SAE 30 oil for optimal performance in warmer temperatures. For colder conditions, SAE 10W-30 may be more suitable. Always check the owner's manual for recommendations.
For best performance, sharpen the blades after approximately 20-25 hours of use. Dull blades can tear grass instead of cutting it cleanly.
After mowing, use a garden hose to wash away grass clippings from the underside of the mower deck. Ensure the mower is off and cool before cleaning.
Check the fuel level, spark plug, and air filter. Ensure the blade control bar is engaged. If issues persist, consult the manual or a professional technician.
To change the spark plug, disconnect the spark plug wire, use a spark plug wrench to remove the old plug, and install a new one. Ensure the gap is set correctly before installation.
Replace the air filter every 25 hours of operation or once a season. A clogged air filter can reduce engine performance and efficiency.
Adjust the cutting height by moving the height adjustment levers located on each wheel. Ensure all wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
At the end of the season, empty the fuel tank, clean the mower, check for any worn parts, and store it in a dry place. Consider blade sharpening and changing the oil.
Ensure the blade is sharp and the deck is clean. Mow when the grass is dry and avoid cutting more than one-third of the grass blade at a time for best mulching results.
