To start the Toro Recycler 22-inch 20064 mower, ensure the mower is on a flat surface. Check the oil and fuel levels. Pull the bail bar (safety bar) to the handle and hold it in place. Pull the starter rope with a smooth, quick motion.
Use SAE 30 motor oil with an API service classification of SF, SG, SH, SJ, SL, or higher. For temperatures below 32°F (0°C), use SAE 5W-30 or SAE 10W-30.
It is recommended to sharpen the blades after every 25 hours of use or at least once per mowing season to ensure a clean cut and optimal performance.
First, check the fuel level and ensure the fuel is fresh. Verify that the spark plug is connected and in good condition. Clean or replace the air filter if necessary. Make sure the bail bar is engaged when starting.
Ensure the mower deck is clean and the blade is sharp. Mow when the grass is dry and avoid cutting more than one-third of the grass blade at a time. Use the mulching plug, if equipped.
Disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent accidental starts. Tilt the mower on its side with the air filter facing up. Use a brush or cloth to remove grass clippings and debris. For persistent build-up, use a hose with a spray nozzle.
Drain the fuel or add a fuel stabilizer to the tank. Change the oil and clean the mower deck. Remove the battery if applicable and store it in a cool, dry place. Store the mower in a dry, covered area.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment levers near each wheel. Move the levers to the desired setting, ensuring all four wheels are set to the same height.
Check for debris or grass build-up on the blade or deck. Inspect the blade for damage and ensure it is balanced. Tighten any loose bolts or screws. If the issue persists, consult a professional.
Replace the spark plug every 100 hours of operation or once a year, whichever comes first, to maintain efficient engine performance.
