To start the Toro Recycler 22-inch Model 20033, ensure the fuel tank is filled and the oil level is adequate. Press the primer bulb three times, then hold the handlebar bail down and pull the starter rope.
Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) and SAE 5W-30 oil for temperatures below 32°F (0°C). Ensure the oil is of high quality and meets or exceeds API service classification SJ or higher.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, and then every 50 hours or at least once a year thereafter.
If the mower doesn't start, check the fuel level and ensure it's fresh. Verify the oil level, inspect the spark plug for damage or wear, and clean or replace it if necessary. Also, ensure the air filter is clean.
To clean the mower's deck, ensure the engine is off and the spark plug wire is disconnected. Use a brush or cloth to remove grass clippings and debris. For a thorough clean, gently tip the mower on its side and use a hose to wash under the deck.
Ensure the blade is sharp and balanced. Regularly clean the deck to prevent grass buildup. Mow at the appropriate height setting and avoid cutting wet grass.
Regularly check and replace the air filter, change the oil, inspect the spark plug, sharpen the blade, and clean the mower deck. Also, ensure all nuts, bolts, and screws are tight.
Before storing, run the engine until it runs out of fuel, change the oil, remove the spark plug, and pour a small amount of oil into the cylinder. Clean the mower thoroughly and store it in a dry place.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment levers on each wheel. Move the levers to the desired position for the appropriate cutting height. Ensure all wheels are set to the same height.
Excessive vibration may be caused by an unbalanced or damaged blade. Inspect the blade and replace it if necessary. Check for loose parts and ensure all components are securely fastened.
