To start the Toro Recycler 20031 mower, first ensure that the fuel tank and oil reservoir are filled to the appropriate levels. Set the mower on a flat surface, engage the safety lever, and pull the starter rope firmly.
If the mower doesn't start, check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected, and inspect the air filter for blockages. If the problem persists, consider replacing the spark plug and checking the carburetor.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of operation, then every 25 hours or at the start of each mowing season. Use SAE 30 oil for optimal performance.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using fuel with more than 10% ethanol content to prevent engine damage.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment levers on each wheel. Move the levers to the desired position, ensuring all wheels are set to the same height for even cutting.
Regularly sharpen the mower blade, ensure the deck is clean of grass clippings, and mow when the grass is dry for the best results.
Regular maintenance includes checking the oil level, cleaning the air filter, inspecting the spark plug, and cleaning the mower deck. Perform these tasks every 25 hours of use or annually.
To replace the spark plug, disconnect the spark plug wire, use a spark plug wrench to remove the old plug, and install a new plug with the correct gap setting. Reattach the spark plug wire securely.
Excessive vibration may be caused by a damaged or unbalanced blade. Check the blade for damage and ensure it is securely fastened. Sharpen or replace the blade if necessary.
To prepare the mower for winter storage, clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, remove the spark plug and add a few drops of oil into the cylinder, and store the mower in a dry, covered area.
