To start the mower, ensure the fuel valve is open, the engine stop lever is engaged, and the starter handle is pulled briskly.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected, and inspect the air filter for clogs. If these are fine, consider checking the carburetor.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, then after every 25 hours of operation or at the start of each mowing season.
Excessive vibration can be caused by a damaged blade, loose hardware, or debris lodged in the mower deck. Inspect and address these issues.
Adjust the cutting height by using the levers located on each wheel. Set all wheels to the same height for an even cut.
Clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, remove fuel or add a fuel stabilizer, and disconnect the spark plug. Store in a dry place.
Remove the blade and use a file or grinder to sharpen it, maintaining the original angle. Balance the blade before reinstallation.
Ensure blades are sharp and the deck is clean. Also, avoid mowing wet grass as it can clump and affect mulching performance.
Remove the air filter, clean it with soapy water, rinse, and allow it to dry completely before reinstalling. Replace if damaged.
Use clean, fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of at least 87. Avoid using ethanol blends exceeding 10%.
