To start the mower, ensure the fuel valve is open, the blade control is engaged, and the starter handle is pulled firmly. Make sure the mower is on a flat surface before starting.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected, and verify the air filter is clean. If issues persist, inspect the fuel line and carburetor for clogs.
Sharpen the mower blades after every 20-25 hours of use, or at the beginning of each mowing season to ensure a clean cut.
The mower uses SAE 30 or 10W-30 motor oil. Check the owner's manual for the recommended oil for your climate conditions.
After each use, disconnect the spark plug and use a garden hose to wash the underside of the deck. Scrape off any built-up grass clippings with a plastic scraper.
Adjust the mowing height using the levers on each wheel. The ideal height depends on your grass type, but generally, 2.5 to 3.5 inches is recommended for most lawns.
To winterize, drain the fuel, change the oil, clean the air filter, and remove the spark plug. Store the mower in a dry place with the blade disengaged.
Check for debris lodged in the blade area, ensure the blade is balanced and securely attached, and inspect for any damage to the blade or engine mount.
Ensure the blade is sharp and clean, mow when the grass is dry, and avoid cutting more than one-third of the grass height in a single pass.
To replace the drive belt, disconnect the spark plug, remove the blade and belt cover, and replace the belt. Consult the user manual for detailed steps and diagrams.
