To start the Toro Recycler 21-inch 22282T mower, first ensure the fuel valve is open. Then, engage the blade control bar and pull the recoil starter handle sharply.
If the mower doesn't start, check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected, and inspect the air filter for clogs. Replace any faulty components as necessary.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, and then every 50 hours or annually, whichever comes first.
Ensure the blade is sharp and clean. Adjust the cutting height appropriately for the grass type and conditions. Regular maintenance and cleaning will also help improve performance.
Excessive vibration can be caused by a loose or unbalanced blade. Check for debris stuck in the blade area and tighten any loose parts.
After use, disconnect the spark plug wire. Use a garden hose to rinse off the underside of the deck, making sure not to saturate the engine. Remove any grass clippings and debris to prevent buildup.
Use fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment levers on each wheel. Move the levers to the desired height setting for all four wheels.
Uncut grass can result from a dull blade, incorrect mower speed, or high grass. Sharpen the blade, adjust your mowing speed, and avoid cutting more than one-third of the grass height at a time.
For off-season storage, drain the fuel tank, clean the mower thoroughly, and store it in a dry, covered area. Consider removing the battery if applicable and applying a light oil to metal parts to prevent rust.
