To start the Toro Recycler 21-inch 22177TE Mower, ensure the fuel tank is filled, the oil level is adequate, and the spark plug is connected. Pull the starter cord firmly while holding the handlebar safety lever to engage the engine.
If the mower doesn't start, check the fuel level and quality, inspect the spark plug for wear or damage, ensure the air filter is clean, and verify that the starter cord is not obstructed.
The oil should be changed after the first 5 hours of use, and then every 25 hours of operation or at the start of each mowing season.
Regularly inspect the mower blades for sharpness and damage. Sharpen or replace them as needed to ensure optimal cutting performance. Typically, blades should be sharpened after every 20-25 hours of use.
To clean the mower, turn it off and disconnect the spark plug. Use a brush or a hose to remove grass clippings and debris from the deck and blades. Ensure the mower is dry before storing it.
Excessive vibration can be caused by imbalanced or damaged blades. Check the blades for damage or debris and ensure they are properly secured. Balancing the blades may also resolve the issue.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment lever near each wheel. Move the lever to the desired position, ensuring all wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
Uncut grass patches may result from dull blades, incorrect cutting height, or mowing too fast. Ensure the blades are sharp and set the appropriate cutting height for the grass length.
Use clean, fresh unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using ethanol blends greater than E10 to prevent damage to the engine.
Before storing the mower, clean it thoroughly, change the oil, empty the fuel tank, and remove the battery if applicable. Store in a dry, sheltered area to protect it from the elements.
