Ensure the mower is on a flat surface and the fuel tank is filled. Pull the safety handle lever towards the handlebar and then pull the starter rope briskly to start the engine.
Check if there's enough fuel and the oil level is adequate. Inspect the spark plug for damage or wear and ensure the air filter is clean. Replace or clean as necessary.
Blades should be sharpened at least once per mowing season or after every 20-25 hours of use to ensure a clean cut.
Regular maintenance includes checking the oil level before each use, cleaning or replacing the air filter every 25 hours, and changing the oil every 50 hours.
Ensure the blade is sharp and balanced, avoid mowing when the grass is wet, and set the correct cutting height for the grass type.
Check for debris stuck in the blade area, ensure the blade is not bent, and that the blade bolt is tight. If the problem persists, consider replacing the blade.
Clean the mower thoroughly, drain the fuel tank, and change the oil. Store the mower in a dry, covered area and disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent accidental starts.
Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) and SAE 10W-30 for temperatures below 32°F (0°C).
Locate the height adjustment levers on each wheel and move them to the desired cutting height. Ensure all wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
Check if the discharge chute is blocked by debris and clear it if necessary. Ensure the grass bag is not full and the blade is sharp for effective grass discharge.
