To start the Toro Recycler 22168 mower, ensure the fuel valve is open, the spark plug is connected, and the throttle lever is set to the 'Start' position. Pull the starter handle firmly.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is properly connected, and the air filter is clean. Also, inspect the fuel line for clogs or leaks.
Sharpen the mower blades at least once a season or after every 20-25 hours of use to ensure a clean cut and efficient operation.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Ensure it contains no more than 10% ethanol.
Disconnect the spark plug and tilt the mower to access the underside. Use a garden hose to rinse off grass clippings and debris, then dry thoroughly to prevent rust.
Refer to the owner's manual for a detailed schedule, but generally, check the oil before each use, clean the air filter every 25 hours, and replace the spark plug annually.
Adjust the cutting height by using the levers located at each wheel. Set all wheels to the same height for an even cut.
Excessive vibration may be caused by unbalanced blades or debris lodged in the blade area. Inspect and clean the mower, and balance or replace the blades if necessary.
To change the oil, warm up the engine, then turn it off. Drain the oil by removing the oil fill cap/dipstick and tilting the mower. Refill with the recommended oil type.
Ensure the blades are sharp, the cutting deck is clean, and the mower is operating at the correct speed. Adjust the cutting height if necessary.
