To start the Toro Recycler 21311, ensure the mower is on a flat surface. Press the primer bulb three times, pull the blade control lever to the handle, and then pull the starter rope handle quickly.
Check if there is fuel in the tank and that it's fresh. Ensure the spark plug is connected properly and not fouled. Additionally, check the air filter for dirt or blockages.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, and then at least once every mowing season or every 50 hours of operation, whichever comes first.
Disconnect the spark plug wire and tip the mower onto its side. Use a wrench to remove the blade bolt and sharpen the blade using a file or a grinding wheel, ensuring it is balanced. Reattach securely after sharpening.
Check if the blade is dull or damaged and sharpen or replace it as necessary. Ensure that the cutting height is set appropriately and the deck is clean and free of debris.
Each wheel has a height adjustment lever. Move the lever to the desired notch to adjust the cutting height. Ensure all four wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
Use fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol content.
Ensure the mower blade is sharp and the deck is clean. Mow when the grass is dry and adjust the cutting height to avoid removing more than one-third of the grass blade's length.
Inspect the air filter before each use. Clean it every 25 hours of operation or more often under dusty conditions. Replace it annually or as needed if it is damaged or very dirty.
Run the mower until it runs out of fuel, or add a fuel stabilizer and run the engine for a few minutes. Change the oil, clean the deck, and remove the battery (if applicable). Store in a dry, protected area.
