To start the Toro Recycler 21-inch 20761B Mower, ensure that the fuel tank is filled with fresh gasoline and the oil level is adequate. Press the primer bulb 3 times, then pull the starter handle to start the engine.
Use SAE 30 detergent oil with an API service classification of SF, SG, SH, SJ, SL, or higher. For extreme temperature conditions, refer to the owner's manual for specific recommendations.
Sharpen the mower blades at least once per mowing season or more frequently if the blades become dull or nicked due to contact with hard objects.
To clean the mower deck, first turn off the engine and disconnect the spark plug. Tilt the mower to access the underside and use a hose to wash away grass clippings and debris. Ensure the mower is dry before storing.
Adjust the cutting height by using the lever located at each wheel. Move the lever to the desired cutting height position, ensuring all four wheels are set to the same height.
If the mower does not start, check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected, and inspect the air filter for blockages. If issues persist, consult the owner's manual or contact a professional service technician.
To change the spark plug, first disconnect the spark plug wire. Use a spark plug wrench to remove the old plug, then install a new one with the same specifications. Reconnect the spark plug wire securely.
Before storing the mower for winter, drain the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer. Clean the mower thoroughly and store it in a dry, sheltered area. Disconnect the spark plug to prevent accidental starting.
To replace the air filter, remove the cover by unscrewing or unclipping it. Take out the old filter and replace it with a new one compatible with the mower model. Secure the cover back in place.
Regular maintenance tasks include checking and changing the oil, cleaning or replacing the air filter, sharpening the blades, checking tire pressure, and inspecting the spark plug. Refer to the owner's manual for detailed maintenance schedules.
