Ensure the fuel valve is open and the spark plug is connected. Prime the engine by pressing the primer bulb three times. Pull the starter handle firmly until the engine starts.
Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) and 10W-30 for colder temperatures. Always check the oil level before each use.
Sharpen the mower blade at least once a year or after 25 hours of use. Dull blades can tear grass, causing lawn stress.
Check the fuel level and ensure fresh fuel is used. Inspect the spark plug for damage or wear and replace if necessary. Verify that the air filter is clean and replace if clogged.
Use the height adjustment levers located on each wheel. Move the levers to your desired cutting height, ensuring all four wheels are set equally.
Regularly clean the underside of the mower deck to prevent grass buildup. Ensure the blade is sharp and balanced, and mow at the correct height for your grass type.
Drain the fuel tank, change the oil, clean the mower, and inspect the blade for damage. Store the mower in a dry place and disconnect the spark plug.
Remove the air filter cover, take out the old filter, and install a new one. Ensure the filter is seated properly and replace the cover securely.
Check for a damaged or unbalanced blade and replace it if necessary. Inspect the engine mounting bolts and the blade mounting hardware for tightness.
Turn off the mower and disconnect the spark plug. Use a garden hose to rinse grass clippings from the deck, avoiding the engine. Allow the mower to dry before storage.
