To start your Toro Recycler 21-inch 20057 Mower, ensure that the fuel tank is full and the oil level is sufficient. Push the primer bulb 3-5 times, pull the safety bar across the handle, and then pull the starter rope briskly.
If your mower doesn't start, check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected and clean, examine the air filter for blockages, and make sure the primer bulb is functioning correctly.
Sharpen the blade at least once a mowing season or after every 20-25 hours of use to maintain optimal cutting performance.
Use SAE 30 or 10W-30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C). For colder temperatures, refer to the owner's manual for the recommended oil type.
After each use, use a garden hose to spray the underside of the mower deck. For thorough cleaning, disconnect the spark plug and use a brush to remove debris.
Drain the fuel tank, clean the mower thoroughly, and store it in a dry, sheltered area. Disconnect the spark plug and remove the battery if applicable.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment levers on each wheel and move them to the desired position. Ensure all wheels are set to the same height level.
Before each mowing season, change the oil, replace the spark plug, check the air filter, and inspect the blade for sharpness and damage.
Ensure the blade is sharp, mow when grass is dry, and avoid cutting more than a third of the grass height in one pass. Use the mulching plug if available.
If your mower vibrates excessively, check for debris stuck in the blade, ensure the blade is balanced and properly secured, and inspect the engine mounting bolts for tightness.
