To start the Toro Recycler 20651, ensure that the mower is on a flat surface. Check the fuel and oil levels. Move the throttle lever to the "Fast" position, and pull the starter handle firmly until the engine starts.
Regular maintenance includes checking the oil before each use, cleaning the air filter every 25 hours of operation, sharpening the blade at least once a year, and replacing the spark plug annually.
If the mower doesn't start, check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected, inspect the air filter for clogs, and make sure the oil is at the correct level.
If the mower's performance is poor, check for a dull blade, inspect the air filter, and ensure that the mower deck is clean and free from grass clippings.
To store the mower for winter, drain the fuel, clean the mower thoroughly, check and replace the oil, and store it in a dry, sheltered area.
Toro recommends using SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F and SAE 5W-30 for temperatures below 32°F.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment levers on each wheel, and set them to the desired position. Ensure all wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
Excessive vibration may be caused by a bent or unbalanced blade. Check the blade for damage and replace it if necessary. Also, ensure that the blade is securely fastened.
To clean the mower deck, first ensure the spark plug is disconnected. Use a garden hose to rinse off grass clippings and debris. For stubborn grime, use a brush and mild detergent.
If the self-propulsion is not working, check the drive cable for proper tension, inspect the drive belt for wear or damage, and ensure the wheels are not obstructed.
