To start the Toro Recycler 20441 mower, first ensure that the fuel valve is open. Then, engage the engine by pulling the starter handle briskly. Make sure the throttle is set to the appropriate position before starting.
For optimal performance, use SAE 30 oil above 32°F. Below 32°F, use SAE 10W-30. Always check the oil level with the dipstick before each use.
Check if the fuel tank has enough gasoline and the fuel valve is open. Inspect the spark plug for wear or fouling. Ensure the air filter is clean and replace it if necessary.
Sharpen the mower blade at least once a season or after every 25 hours of use. Keeping the blade sharp ensures a clean cut and promotes lawn health.
Before storing, run the mower dry of fuel. Change the oil and remove the spark plug to add a few drops of oil into the cylinder, then pull the starter handle to distribute the oil. Clean the mower deck and store it in a dry place.
Remove the air filter cover by pressing the tabs on the sides. Remove the old filter and replace it with a new one, ensuring it is seated properly. Reattach the cover securely.
Check the blade for sharpness and damage. Ensure the tire pressure is even in all wheels. Also, verify that the deck is not clogged with grass clippings.
Adjust the cutting height by moving the lever located on each wheel to the desired position. Ensure all wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
To clean the mower deck, ensure the engine is off and the spark plug wire is disconnected. Use a garden hose to rinse off grass clippings and debris, being careful not to oversaturate the engine area.
Excessive vibration may be due to an unbalanced or damaged blade. Inspect the blade for bends and ensure it is properly installed. Tighten any loose bolts and check the engine mounting.
