To start the Toro Recycler 20383, ensure that the mower is on a flat surface. Check that the fuel valve is open. Engage the blade control lever, then pull the recoil starter handle with a firm and steady motion.
Toro recommends using SAE 30 oil for the Recycler 20383 in temperatures above 32°F (0°C). For temperatures below 32°F, you should use SAE 5W-30 to ensure proper engine performance.
The oil should be changed after the first 5 hours of use and then every 50 hours of operation or at least once a season. Refer to the user manual for detailed instructions on how to change the oil.
If the mower won't start, check the following: ensure there's enough fuel, check the spark plug for wear or damage, verify the air filter is clean, and ensure the fuel valve is open. If the problem persists, consult a professional technician.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment levers on each wheel. Move the levers to the desired position, ensuring all wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the oil, cleaning or replacing the air filter, inspecting the spark plug, sharpening the blade, and cleaning the mower deck. Refer to the manual for the maintenance schedule.
To store the mower, clean it thoroughly, drain the fuel or add a fuel stabilizer, change the oil, and remove the spark plug. Store the mower in a dry, sheltered area away from direct sunlight.
It is not recommended to mow wet grass as it can clog the mower deck, cause uneven cuts, and potentially damage the lawn. Wait until the grass is dry for best results.
First, disconnect the spark plug wire. Tilt the mower to access the blade, using a block of wood to prevent the blade from turning. Use a wrench to remove the blade bolt, then replace the blade and tighten the bolt securely.
Excessive vibration can be caused by a damaged or unbalanced blade. Inspect the blade for damage and balance it if necessary. If the problem continues, consult a professional.
