Ensure the fuel tank is filled with fresh gasoline and the oil level is adequate. Engage the blade control handle, pull the starter rope handle, and allow the engine to start.
Check for sufficient fuel and oil levels. Inspect the spark plug for wear or damage and replace if necessary. Ensure the air filter is clean and unobstructed.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, then at least once every mowing season or after every 50 hours of operation.
Ensure the mower blade is sharp and balanced. Regularly clean the underside of the mower deck to prevent grass buildup, and adjust the cutting height to suit the grass conditions.
Check the oil level before each use, clean the air filter every 25 hours, and replace the spark plug annually. Sharpen the blade at least once a season or as needed.
Disconnect the spark plug wire, use a garden hose to spray the underside of the deck, and remove any grass clippings. Dry the mower thoroughly to prevent rust.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol.
Check the tire pressure to ensure it's even on all wheels. Inspect the mower blade for damage and replace or sharpen it as necessary. Adjust the cutting height if needed.
Stop the engine and check for debris stuck in the blade or deck. Inspect the blade for damage or imbalance and replace it if necessary. Ensure all bolts and nuts are tightened.
Clean the mower thoroughly, drain the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer, change the oil, and store it in a dry, sheltered area. Disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent accidental starting.
