To start the Toro Recycler 20381 Mower, ensure the fuel valve is open, press the primer bulb three times (if applicable), pull and hold the blade control bar against the handle, and then pull the recoil starter handle.
It is recommended to change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, and then after every 25 hours of operation or at least once per mowing season.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected, inspect the air filter for clogs, and make sure the blade control bar is engaged. If problems persist, consult the owner's manual or a professional technician.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment levers on each wheel. Move the levers to the desired cutting height position. Ensure all four wheels are set to the same height.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of at least 87 and avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol content.
Ensure the blade is sharp and clean, mow only dry grass, and avoid cutting more than one-third of the grass blade length at a time. Use the mulching plug if available.
Regular maintenance tasks include checking and changing the oil, cleaning or replacing the air filter, sharpening the blade, checking the spark plug, and inspecting the mower for loose parts.
To store the mower for winter, empty the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer, clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, and store it in a dry, covered area. Disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent accidental starting.
Excessive vibration can be caused by an unbalanced or damaged blade. Check the blade for damage and ensure it is properly balanced. If necessary, replace the blade. Also, inspect for loose parts or debris caught in the mower.
To clean the undercarriage, ensure the mower is off and the spark plug wire is disconnected. Use a garden hose to spray off grass clippings and debris. Avoid using a pressure washer as it may damage components.
