To start the Toro Recycler 20323 mower, ensure the fuel tank is filled, and the oil level is adequate. Turn the fuel valve to 'On', pull and hold the blade control bar against the handle, and then pull the recoil starter handle firmly.
Use SAE 30 oil above 32°F and SAE 5W-30 oil below 32°F for optimal engine performance. Check the oil level regularly and change it as specified in the maintenance schedule.
The mower blade should be sharpened after every 25 hours of use or at least once per mowing season to ensure a clean cut and efficient operation.
If the mower won't start, check the fuel level and quality, ensure the spark plug is clean and properly connected, and make sure the air filter is not clogged. Additionally, verify that the blade control bar is engaged.
To clean the deck, turn off the engine and wait for all moving parts to stop. Use a garden hose to wash away the grass clippings from the underside of the mower deck. Avoid using high-pressure water to prevent damage.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment levers on each wheel. Move the levers to the desired position to raise or lower the cutting height. Ensure all wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
At the end of the season, drain the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer, change the engine oil, clean the mower deck, inspect and replace the spark plug if necessary, and store the mower in a dry area.
To replace the air filter, remove the air filter cover, take out the old filter, and insert a new one. Ensure the new filter is seated properly before replacing the cover.
Excessive vibration may indicate a damaged or unbalanced blade. Inspect the blade for damage and replace it if necessary. Also, check that the blade is securely fastened to the mower.
For winter storage, clean the mower thoroughly, remove any fuel from the tank or add a stabilizer, change the oil, and disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent accidental starting. Store in a dry, sheltered location.
