To start the Toro Recycler 20314 Mower, ensure the fuel valve is open, the spark plug is connected, and the drive control bar is disengaged. Pull the starter grip lightly until you feel resistance, then pull it briskly.
Use SAE 30 or SAE 10W-30 detergent oil with an API service classification of SF, SG, SH, SJ, SL, or higher for optimal performance.
Sharpen the mower blade at least once per mowing season or after every 25 hours of use to maintain cutting efficiency and reduce engine strain.
If the mower won't start, check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is in good condition, and verify that the air filter is clean. Additionally, confirm that the safety features are properly set.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment levers on each wheel. Move the levers to the desired position, ensuring all wheels are set to the same height.
Before storing the mower, clean the deck, change the oil, remove gasoline or add a fuel stabilizer, and store it in a dry place. Disconnect the spark plug for safety.
To replace the air filter, remove the cover by unscrewing the fasteners, take out the old filter, and insert a new one. Ensure the new filter is seated properly before replacing the cover.
Excessive vibration may be due to a damaged blade or loose parts. Inspect the blade for damage and ensure all bolts and nuts are tightened securely.
To change the oil, run the mower for a few minutes to warm the oil, then turn off the engine. Remove the oil fill cap, tip the mower onto its side, and drain the old oil into a container. Refill with new oil.
If the self-propel feature is not working, check the drive belt for wear or damage and ensure it is properly tensioned. Also, inspect the drive cable for proper adjustment.
