To start the mower, ensure the fuel valve is open, the throttle is set to 'choke' for a cold start, and pull the starter handle firmly. Make sure the safety lever is engaged before pulling the starter.
Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) and SAE 5W-30 for temperatures below 32°F (0°C). Regularly check and maintain the oil level.
Sharpen the mower blade after every 25 hours of use or at least once every mowing season to ensure a clean cut and maintain lawn health.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is clean and connected, verify the air filter is not clogged, and make sure the safety lever is engaged.
Disconnect the spark plug wire, tilt the mower to the side with the air filter facing up, and use a brush or hose to remove grass clippings and debris from the undercarriage.
Perform a pre-season check including oil change, blade sharpening, air filter cleaning, and spark plug inspection. Conduct a post-season check and winterize the mower for storage.
The Toro Recycler features a single-lever height adjustment system. Locate the lever on each wheel, pull it towards the wheel, and move it to the desired height notch.
Check for a bent or unbalanced blade, ensure all fasteners are tight, and inspect the engine mounts for wear or damage. Replace or repair parts as needed.
Ensure the blade is sharp, mow when the grass is dry, and avoid cutting more than one-third of the grass height in a single pass. Use the mulch plug if available.
Always wear protective eyewear and sturdy footwear, clear the mowing area of debris, never reach under the deck while the engine is running, and ensure children and pets are at a safe distance.
