To adjust the cutting height on your Toro ProStripe 560, locate the height adjustment levers on each wheel. Move the levers to the desired position, ensuring all four wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
If your mower won't start, check the fuel level and ensure the fuel is fresh. Inspect the spark plug for damage or wear, and clean or replace it if necessary. Verify that the air filter is clean and not clogged.
Regular maintenance should be performed after every 25 hours of use or at the beginning of each mowing season. This includes checking the oil, air filter, spark plug, and blade condition.
Toro recommends using SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 40°F (4°C) and 10W-30 for temperatures below 40°F (4°C). Always check the oil level before each use.
To enhance the striping effect, mow in straight lines and overlap each pass slightly. Ensure the rear roller is properly adjusted and the grass is not too long. Mowing frequently will also help maintain the striping effect.
Uncut patches may be due to a dull or damaged blade. Check the blade and sharpen or replace it if necessary. Also, ensure the grass is dry and not overly long when mowing.
To clean the underside, make sure the mower is turned off and disconnect the spark plug wire. Tilt the mower on its side, ensuring the air filter and carburetor are facing up. Use a brush or hose to remove grass clippings and debris.
Check the drive belt for wear or damage and replace it if necessary. Ensure the drive control cable is properly adjusted and not loose. Consult the user manual for specific adjustment instructions.
Clean the mower thoroughly and perform all recommended maintenance. Drain the fuel or add a fuel stabilizer, and store the mower in a dry, sheltered location. Remove the battery if applicable, and store it separately.
It's generally not recommended to mow wet grass as it can clog the mower deck and lead to uneven cutting. If necessary, raise the cutting height slightly and mow slowly to prevent clumping.
