To start the mower, ensure the fuel valve is open, the gear shift is in neutral, and the throttle is set to 'fast'. Pull the recoil starter handle until the engine starts.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected, verify the air filter is clean, and make sure the safety switch is engaged.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment levers on each wheel and set them to the desired height setting. Ensure all wheels are set to the same position.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the oil, cleaning or replacing the air filter, inspecting and replacing the spark plug, and sharpening the blades regularly.
Remove the blades by unscrewing the bolts holding them in place. Use a grinder or file to sharpen the blade edges evenly, then reinstall securely.
Excessive vibration may be caused by unbalanced blades, loose parts, or debris lodged in the mower deck. Check and balance the blades, tighten any loose parts, and clear out debris.
Ensure the tire pressure is equal on all sides, the deck is level, and the blades are sharp and properly installed. Replace any damaged blades.
Toro recommends using SAE 30 or 10W-30 motor oil for optimal performance in the mower's engine. Check the owner's manual for specific recommendations.
To change the oil, run the engine briefly to warm the oil, then turn off the mower. Remove the oil drain plug and allow the oil to drain. Replace the plug and refill with new oil.
Always wear appropriate safety gear, keep bystanders away, and never operate the mower on wet or slippery surfaces. Follow all safety instructions in the user manual.
