Ensure the fuel tank is filled and the oil level is adequate. Move the throttle lever to the 'START' position, pull the starter cord firmly, and the engine should start.
Toro recommends using SAE 30 or 10W-30 oil for optimal performance in temperatures above 32°F (0°C).
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, then every 25-50 hours or at least once per mowing season.
Disconnect the spark plug to ensure safety, then use a garden hose to wash away grass clippings and debris from the cutting deck.
Check if the blade is dull or damaged and needs sharpening or replacement. Also, inspect the wheel height settings to ensure they are even.
Clean the mower, change the oil, drain the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer, and store it in a dry place.
Ensure the blade is sharp and set the mower to the highest cutting height for the first pass. Mow regularly to avoid cutting too much grass at once.
Wait a few minutes for the fuel to evaporate, then try starting the engine again without using the choke.
Disconnect the spark plug wire, remove the old spark plug using a wrench, and install a new one, ensuring it's properly gapped.
Check the fuel level, spark plug condition, and air filter cleanliness. Ensure the throttle is in the correct position and the safety key is engaged.
