Toro ProLine Recycler 21-inch 22173 Operator's Manual

To start the mower, check that the fuel valve is open, the spark plug is connected, and the throttle is set to 'fast'. Pull the recoil starter handle slowly until resistance is felt, then pull it sharply to start the engine.
Regularly inspect the blade for wear and damage. Sharpen the blade every 25 hours of use or twice a season to ensure a clean cut. Replace the blade if it is damaged or excessively worn.
After each use, clean the mower deck by removing grass clippings and debris. Use a hose with a spray nozzle to wash the underside and prevent buildup that can affect performance. Ensure the mower is turned off and cool before cleaning.
Check the fuel level, make sure the spark plug is connected, and inspect the air filter. Ensure the fuel is fresh and the fuel valve is open. If the problem persists, consult the user manual or a professional technician.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, then every 50 hours or annually, whichever comes first. Use high-quality detergent oil classified as SAE 30 or equivalent.
Use clean, fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using gas with more than 10% ethanol content to prevent engine damage.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment levers on each wheel. Move the levers to the desired position to raise or lower the deck evenly.
Excessive vibration may indicate a damaged blade or loose parts. Inspect the blade for damage and ensure it is securely fastened. Tighten any loose bolts and check for debris lodged in the mower deck.
Before storing, clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, and stabilize the fuel. Remove the spark plug and add a few drops of oil into the cylinder. Pull the starter handle a few times to distribute the oil and replace the spark plug. Store in a dry, sheltered location.
It is not recommended to mow wet grass as it can cause clumping and uneven cutting. Wet grass can also make the mower slippery and harder to handle, posing a safety risk.
