To start the Toro ProLine Recycler 21-inch 22167TE Mower, ensure the fuel valve is open, the throttle is in the 'fast' position, and the blade control lever is engaged. Pull the starter rope firmly to start the engine.
Toro recommends using SAE 30 oil for optimal performance in temperatures above 32°F (0°C). For colder climates, 10W-30 oil is advisable. Regularly check the oil level and change it after every 25 hours of use.
If the mower doesn’t start, check the fuel level and ensure the fuel valve is open. Verify the spark plug is connected and clean. Also, inspect the air filter for dirt or obstructions. Replace or clean components as necessary.
For optimal performance, inspect the mower blade after every 25 hours of use. Sharpen the blade as needed and replace it if it shows signs of significant wear or damage. Ensure the blade is balanced to avoid uneven cutting.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment levers on each wheel. Move the levers to the desired position, ensuring all wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
Excessive vibration may be caused by a damaged or unbalanced blade. Check the blade for damage and balance, and replace it if necessary. Additionally, inspect the mounting bolts and ensure they are tightened securely.
After each use, safely tilt the mower and remove any grass clippings from the deck using a brush or cloth. Avoid using water to clean the deck as it may lead to rust and corrosion.
To replace the air filter, locate the air filter cover and remove it. Take out the old filter and insert a new one, ensuring it fits snugly. Replace the cover securely before operating the mower.
Ensure the blade is sharp and properly installed. Check for any clogs in the discharge chute and clean as necessary. Additionally, mowing when the grass is dry will improve mulching efficiency.
For long-term storage, clean the mower thoroughly. Drain the fuel system or add a fuel stabilizer. Remove the spark plug and add a few drops of oil into the cylinder, then replace the spark plug without connecting the wire. Store the mower in a dry, cool place.
