To start the mower, ensure the fuel valve is open, the throttle is set to 'choke' (if the engine is cold), and the blade control is disengaged. Pull the starter rope firmly until the engine starts. Then, move the throttle to 'fast' for mowing.
Check if the fuel tank is filled, the fuel valve is open, and the spark plug is connected properly. Also, inspect the air filter for blockages and ensure the choke is set correctly for a cold start.
It's recommended to change the oil after the first 5 hours of use and then every 50 hours of operation or at least once a season. Use SAE 30 oil for optimal performance.
To clean the mower deck, safely tip the mower on its side, ensuring the carburetor and air filter are facing up. Use a hose to wash off grass clippings and debris. Avoid using high-pressure water as it may damage components.
Remove the blade by detaching the bolt holding it in place. Secure the blade in a vice and use a file or grinder to sharpen the cutting edges. Ensure the blade is balanced before reinstalling.
Inspect the air filter, spark plug, blades, belts, and tires. Check for any loose bolts or unusual wear. Lubricate moving parts and ensure the safety features are operational.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the adjustment levers near the wheels. Move the lever to the desired position for your preferred grass height. Ensure all wheels are set to the same level.
Clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, and drain the fuel tank. Store the mower in a dry, sheltered place. Consider removing the battery and keeping it in a temperature-controlled environment.
Excessive vibration can be caused by an unbalanced or damaged blade, loose bolts, or debris caught in the mower deck. Inspect and resolve these issues to reduce vibration.
First, disconnect the spark plug for safety. Remove the mowing deck and locate the belt. Loosen the belt guides and remove the old belt. Install the new belt, ensuring correct tension and alignment, then reassemble the deck.
