It is recommended to change the oil after the first 5 hours of use and then after every 25 hours of operation or at the start of each mowing season.
Use fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol to prevent engine damage.
Check if there is fresh fuel in the tank, ensure the spark plug is clean and properly connected, verify that the air filter is clean, and make sure the safety handle is fully engaged.
After each use, use a hose to wash off grass clippings and debris from the underside of the deck. Ensure the mower is off and cooled down before cleaning.
Locate the height adjustment levers on each wheel. Move each lever to the desired height setting, ensuring all four wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
Check for any debris or obstructions around the blade area, ensure the blade is not damaged or unbalanced, and verify that all fasteners are properly tightened.
Regularly maintain the engine, keep the air filter clean, use the correct type of fuel, and mow at the recommended height to avoid overworking the engine.
Drain the fuel tank, change the oil, clean the entire mower, and store it in a dry place. Consider removing the battery and storing it in a cool, dry location if applicable.
Disconnect the spark plug wire, remove the old spark plug using a spark plug wrench, and install a new spark plug, ensuring it is properly gapped and tightened. Reattach the spark plug wire securely.
Inspect the blade for dullness or damage, ensure the cutting deck is clean, verify that the engine is running at full speed, and check that the cutting height is set appropriately for the grass conditions.
