The recommended oil type for the Toro ProLine 53-cm 22701 Mower is SAE 30 or 10W-30 detergent oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C).
It is advisable to sharpen the mower blade after every 25 hours of use or at least once per mowing season to maintain optimal cutting performance.
Check if the fuel tank is filled, the spark plug is connected, and the air filter is clean. Ensure the throttle is in the start position and the safety handle is engaged.
To winterize the mower, drain the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer, clean the underside of the mower deck, and store it in a dry place. Consider removing the battery if applicable.
To adjust the cutting height, use the height adjustment levers located on each wheel. Set all four wheels to the desired cutting height position.
Excessive vibration may be caused by a bent blade, loose parts, or debris under the deck. Inspect the mower blade for damage, tighten any loose parts, and remove debris.
Uncut grass patches may result from a dull blade, incorrect mowing speed, or uneven terrain. Ensure the blade is sharp, mow at the correct speed, and adjust the cutting height for uneven ground.
After use, allow the engine to cool, then disconnect the spark plug. Use a brush or hose to remove grass clippings and debris from the deck and other parts, ensuring no water enters the engine.
To change the air filter, remove the cover, take out the old filter, and insert a new one, ensuring it fits snugly. Replace the cover securely. Check the manual for specific instructions.
Disconnect the spark plug wire, clean around the spark plug area, remove the spark plug using a wrench, and inspect it. Replace if necessary with a new one and reconnect the wire.
