To start the Toro ProLine 38-inch mower, ensure that the parking brake is set, the PTO switch is off, and the mower is in neutral. Turn the ignition key to start the engine.
Use SAE 30 or 10W-30 detergent oil with an API service classification of SF, SG, SH, SJ, or higher.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use and every 50 hours thereafter, or at least once a season.
If the blades won't engage, check the PTO switch, inspect the belt for damage or wear, and ensure the battery is fully charged.
To adjust the cutting height, move the height-of-cut lever to the desired position. Ensure both sides are set to the same height for an even cut.
Before storing the mower for winter, clean the mower deck, change the oil, drain the fuel, and disconnect the battery. Store in a dry, covered area.
If the engine does not start, check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is clean and properly connected, and verify that the air filter is not clogged.
The recommended tire pressure is 12 PSI for the front tires and 10 PSI for the rear tires.
To replace the mower blades, first disconnect the spark plug wire, then use a wrench to remove the blade bolt. Replace with a new blade and tighten securely.
If the mower is vibrating excessively, check for loose or damaged blades, ensure the engine is securely mounted, and inspect for any debris lodged in the deck.
