To start the Toro ProLine 30191 mower, first ensure the fuel valve is open and the throttle is set to the 'Fast' position. Then, engage the blade control lever and turn the ignition key to the 'Start' position until the engine starts.
If the mower doesn't start, check the fuel level and ensure the fuel valve is open. Verify the battery is charged and the spark plug is in good condition. Also, make sure the blade control lever is engaged and the safety interlocks are not preventing the start.
Sharpen the mower blades every 20-25 hours of use or whenever you notice a decrease in cutting performance. Dull blades can tear grass rather than cut it cleanly, which can lead to lawn damage.
Toro recommends using SAE 30 or 10W-30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) and 5W-30 oil for temperatures below that. Always check the engine oil level before each use and change it after the first 5 hours, then every 50 hours or annually.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment levers on each wheel. Move the levers to the desired position. Ensure all wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
After each use, clean the mower deck by first removing the spark plug wire for safety. Use a garden hose to rinse off grass clippings and debris. Avoid using high-pressure washers as they can damage components. Dry the deck thoroughly to prevent rust.
For uneven cutting, first check that the mower blades are sharp and balanced. Ensure all wheels are set to the same cutting height. Inspect the deck for any damage or build-up of debris, which may cause uneven cutting.
For battery maintenance, keep the battery terminals clean and free from corrosion. Charge the battery before storage and every 25 hours of use. Store the mower in a dry, temperature-controlled environment to prolong battery life.
Replace the air filter every 25 hours of operation or annually, whichever comes first. Check it more frequently if you use the mower in dusty conditions, as a clean air filter is essential for optimal engine performance.
Excessive vibration can be caused by unbalanced or damaged blades, loose bolts, or debris lodged in the mower deck. Inspect and balance the blades, tighten any loose bolts, and clear any debris to resolve the issue.
