To start the Toro ProLine 185 30185 Mower, ensure the fuel valve is open, the throttle is in the fast position, and the blade control lever is disengaged. Then, pull the recoil starter handle.
If the mower does not start, check the fuel level, spark plug connection, and air filter for obstructions. Ensure the throttle and choke are set correctly.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, and then every 50 hours of operation or annually, whichever comes first. Use SAE 30 or 10W-30 oil.
Regularly clean the underside of the mower deck to prevent grass build-up. Check and sharpen blades as needed to ensure optimal cutting performance.
Uneven cutting can be caused by dull blades, incorrect tire pressure, or an unlevel deck. Ensure blades are sharp, tires are inflated evenly, and the deck is level.
Inspect the mower for loose bolts, fuel or oil leaks, and ensure the safety guards are intact. Check the blade and engine for visible damage.
To improve fuel efficiency, regularly maintain the engine by changing oil, cleaning the air filter, and using fresh fuel. Properly inflate tires and keep blades sharp.
Drain the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer, change the oil, clean the mower thoroughly, and store it in a dry, sheltered area. Disconnect the spark plug wire for safety.
Adjust the cutting height by positioning the height-of-cut lever in the desired notch. Ensure all wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
Excessive vibration can be caused by an unbalanced blade, loose components, or debris. Check and tighten all hardware, balance or replace the blade, and remove obstructions.
